1. Tell our readers a little about yourself and your work.
I’m a father of two, soon to be three, and I think that’s the most important thing about me. My oldest daughter is 14 and really artistic. She pushes me to be a better writer, to be more creative, and to entertain as wide of an audience as possible. When I write, I try to tell stories that I like and that she’ll like. Writing has always been a part of me, but the desire to publish my novels really came from wanting to show her what she could do if she stays committed to her art.

2. What genres do you write or want to write in the future?
Most of what I write falls under speculative fiction, whether that is science-fiction, urban fantasy, alternate history, or high fantasy. Character development is huge to me, regardless of genre: I want compelling heroes, villains, and supporting cast, and I want to see them evolve and take over the story with their personality.

3. What attracted you to the City Owl Press?
City Owl Press gives me the freedom to write, to tell complete stories, and know that the details of publishing are being handled by experienced professionals. Yelena is so quick and friendly in her responses, I felt like my book was being handled by someone who loved my novel as much as I did.

4. What has your experience been like working with City Owl Press?
Yelena is just on top of the ball: it seems like her responses are always faster than expected. She is also very insightful; she could see right away what needed to be changed in the manuscript to improve it. The entire staff is very professional and very committed to what they do.

5. Where do you see yourself in 5, 10 years?
It would be nice to be a full time writer by the end of the decade. I’ve got 4 or 5 other manuscripts in various stages of completion and I think I’ve got a lot of stories to tell, both in the Frostbite series and in other settings.

6. Tell our readers why they should pick up your book.
FROSTBITE is a phenomenal paranormal thrill ride. I really like the pacing and the characters. The Oklahoma setting and the mix of Native American mythology with Lovecraftian horror makes it unique from everything else out there. Beyond the immediate payout, FROSTBITE sets the stage for some other really great stories involving Colin Fisher and friends. The novel is both a complete self-contained tale and a passport to another world just slightly removed from our own: a dark reflection of our Earth.

Thanks so much to Joshua for giving us an inside look at FROSTBITE! Be sure to add it to your list, coming this spring! And congratulations to Joshua on baby number three! Find more from Joshua across the internet and be sure to fill out our giveaway below.
